What's Happening
The JGA April tournament is cancelled due to storms and rain forecasted for Saturday. We will try again in May. See you then.

JGA Gang Play Rules 2023
USGA rules apply, except local rules
- Play the tee of declared handicap
- Putts within 12" conceded
- Double bogey maximum
- If you are on roots, rock or wood chips advise your playing partners and take relief no closer to the hole
- Lost ball and out of bounds are played where the group agrees the ball crossed out of bounds. Place the ball back to the fairway and hit your 4th shot
- Desired pace of play is 14 minutes per hole. Play ready golf and stay up with the group ahead of you
Condition #1
Course conditions are excellent and carts are on the course.
Solution:
Roll the ball in the fairway and play down in rough.
Condition #2
Course is wet. Carts on path. Expected mud on ball
Solution:
Lift, clean and place ball tee to green.
How Gang Play Works
- You are on flighted based on your points average.
- We keep 5 rounds points average as your baseline.
- You are on flighted based on your points average.
- We play a Skins game in each flight.
- You pay $5 for the Front 9 Points game.
- You pay $5 for the Back 9 Points game.
- You pay $5 for the Skins game in your Flight.
- You have a chance to win the Front Points, Back Points, and Skins in your Flight.
- The winnings are collected and put in envelopes to hand out at the next outings.
- If you do not collect within several months, we will put the winnings back into the JGA account.
We appreciate every one of you and look forward to spending days with you at the course. Golf brings us together in fellowship to share experiences that will last a lifetime.

Annual Report
Gentlemen,
I am pleased to send along the JGA Annual Report 2022 (see attached). Frank and the Board have worked extremely hard to provides great services to the Association. Frank has summarized all that has happened in the JGA this year in his Annual Report 2022 (attached). Please review the Report, at your convenience and the associated JGA History (various pages are referenced in the Annual Report 2022). This Annual Report is sent to the membership, in lieu of holding an annual meeting. Thank you Frank for preparing the Annual Report 2022 and updating the JGA History, it took a lot of time and effort.

With cold weather coming on more and the loss of our Friday coordinator Ed Galaski, we may be playing any said day of the week. The weather & temperature will dictate which day. I will try to coordinate with the pro shop which day if any we can play.

To all membership:
You will see on the last page of the Annual Report 2022 there is a proposed Slate of Officers for next year. The nominees for these positions are exactly that - proposed. Secretary Ben Sirmons in the coming days will be sending membership a separate email detailing how to nominate someone for any or all positions on the Board and when to vote. If you are interested in one of the positions, please let Ben Sirmons know right away and he will include your name in the e-mail for the position desired.
The JGA is now accepting 2023 memberships and renewals for existing members. All active members who have not paid by the start of the year will be deactivated. For questions contact Membership Director Brad Coleman bcgolflessons@gmail.com. You can download the 2023 Application and mail it to the address at the top of the form with your annual dues, or stop in the golf shop at Jamestown Park and turn in your form and payment to the JGA drop box. Payment needs to be cash or check made out to the JGA. Sign up and renew today!
End of Year Celebration
The JGA held its 2022 year end celebration and awards dinner Tuesday night at Box Seat. A great way to end the year. President Frank Landing opened the event and thanked members for another successful year. Roger Dooley once again showed membership what style looks like. And Norm Smith provided inspiration with a moving speech that had everyone ready to go to battle. Great times and good food were shared by all. Thanks to all who could join us.
We also recognized our 2022 Club Champion and Senior Club Champions. Congratulations and well played.

Turkey Tournament Recap
We had a great day having fun with our friends on a nice warm and windy day. Thanks to Roger Dooley for taking pictures today. Congratulations to all of the winners!

We have your winnings in envelopes at the course including skins money. We passed out Black Powder Gift Cards to members present following the round. If you did not get one we will get one to you later. Thanks to everyone who helped us with the tournament including the staff at Jamestown Park Golf Course. All of us on the board of Jamestown Golf Association appreciate each of you playing and the guests you invited.

Veterans Tournament Recap
On behalf of the JGA Board of Directors we want to thank everyone for honoring our Veterans and Vet Guests today. We can never thank our Veterans enough! We appreciate the Ragsdale High School Color Guard for giving us a special moment. Thank you Mike Nelson for singing the National Anthem. Thank you USAF Vet, Roger Dooley for adding some of God's words and a special prayer for our Veterans from Army Vet, Danny Iddings.
Thank you Chuck Alston from Biscuitville on Highway 68 for providing breakfast and Tony Wright from Uncle Maddio's Pizza on Wendover Avenue at the Palladium for providing lunch. We support our local businesses. Thank you Dale Moser of High Point Farm Bureau Insurance for a donation to cover our breakfast. We also appreciate the kind donations of many others.
Today was a good day! We love to share a day at the course with old and new friends. The JGA is about having fun through fellowship on the golf course.
