Saturday was an incredible day! The weather was perfect - warm and breezy, and the ball was still flying far.

We had a generous anonymous donor who helped us offer 20-dollar gift cards to the closest to the pin on hole #4.

Our next Saturday gangplay is on October 4, 2025. I feel like Saturday is making progress thanks to everyone who shows up.

Hey everyone,

We had a blast playing golf today! The cooler weather was great, but we had to deal with some steady rain throughout the day. The rain kept the field smaller, but we still had a good number of players.

In the first flight, John Maynard won first place on the front nine by staying steady under some tough course conditions. Geoff Beaston took first place on the back nine with 8 pars. The skins were pretty evenly distributed.

In the second flight, I won first place on the front nine with Rick Slack close behind. Mark Hockaday figured something out on the back nine and swept the field with 2.5 points gained. Davis Beaston took the lion’s share of this flight’s skins for the round.

The third flight was a nail-biter between Curvy and Gary. Mr. Brower took the front nine, and Mr. Fulp followed closely behind. They switched places on the back nine, but they gave most of the skins away to Charlie Gibson.

The last flight was a total showdown between Hanson and Mr. Gray. Hanson won first place on the front nine, and Mr. Gray took second place on both the front and back. Mike McCann won the back with Hanson taking skins like he was rounding up strays.

It was a competitive day where some of us felt the thrill of victory and others the agony of defeat. I really appreciate the support everyone is giving to the Saturday gang play. I also appreciate the growth that is happening in the Saturday group and the JGA.

Hey everyone,

We had an awesome day out today with 19 players. The early tee time really helped us beat the heat. Brock Elder and Geoff Beastone shared first place on the front 9 in the first flight, with Geoff taking undisputed 1st on the back 9. Chris McKay took a couple of skins in the first flight. Joe Simmons and Chris McKay split 2nd place on the back 9.

Joey Simmons took first on the front 9 of the second flight, followed closely by Larry Blackwood and Jay Smith, who shared second place. Mr. Blackwood followed up by taking 1st place on the back 9 with Joey following in second place. Larry and Joey swallowed up most of the skins with Dave Anderson taking one with a birdie on 17. (It was a bit of a miracle with that back pin position.)

Davis Beaston won the front 9 of the third flight by beating his points. Mr. Gibson and Auben Mosbacher shared second place on the front. I watched Auben birdie number 4 with a great putt. Charlie Gibson took first place on the back 9. With the skins being pretty evenly distributed throughout the flight.

The front 9 of the last flight was won by Michael Mcann, who eagled number 2 and took 3 skins on the front. Ric Siordia took second place at a point behind. Ric followed up by winning the back 9 and taking two skins. Christian Emden took one skin on number 16, and Chris baker also took one of the skins in this flight.

Thanks a bunch to everyone who joined us for the golf game today! The weather was perfect - warm and not too humid. The course was in great shape, and the greens were as good as they usually are.

Mr. Elder started the round with a bang, scoring 4 birdies and winning the first 9 holes for the first flight. Pedro followed suit on the back 9, taking the lead.

The second flight had a close race on the front 9, with a 3-way tie. Smith ended up taking the first place on the back 9, followed by Mr. Alspaugh in second place.

The third flight had a tie on the front 9 between Stine and McCann. But Mr. McCann pulled ahead on the back 9, securing first place with Emden in second.

Overall, it was a fantastic round of golf! We are playing again next Saturday. I will send out the invitations soon.

Hey everyone!

I’m so excited to see how our Saturday game is growing! We had 26 of us, and we started out at 7:30 this morning. The weather was gorgeous, even though the course was still a bit damp, which made it a bit trickier.

Tom Brerton won first place for his flight on both the front and the back, while Jay Gardner and John Maynard took first in their flights on the front 9. Briley, Beaston, and Sturgill took first on the back 9.

Our next Saturday gang play is on June 21st, and I hope we can keep up the momentum with the size of our Saturday group. Let’s do it!

Saturday’s weather conditions couldn’t have been more different from last week. It was warm, sunny, and breezy. We had a successful showing with 23 players participating in the competition. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who showed up. The more players we have, the better the game becomes.

The weather conditions were quite favorable, and several players had outstanding performances.

John Maynard emerged as the big money winner, closely followed by Norm. Smith.

We had an awesome turnout today, and I’m hoping Saturday will get even better as the weather warms up.

The course was a real challenge today. Yesterday’s rain made the ground soft, and the cool weather added an extra layer of difficulty.

But hey, everyone seems to have had a great time and won a little something for their trouble.

JGA SATURDAY GANGPLAY   6/22/2024 RESULTS

It was a particularly hot Saturday, but the course was in terrific condition. We had two groups, and we had some low handicappers for the first time on Saturday. We played a Nassau game with skins on the par 3’s

Our low handicap group all finished under 80. Dan Holland winning the day with a score of 74. Brad eagled number 6 and as a group there were 12 birdies.

Our second group included two new players Prel and Ahmad who we are excited to have with us. The low score from our second group was 86. We laughed, we cried and there were some great shots seen throughout the day.

It was a great day for golf and the speed of play was consistent, I’m looking forward to seeing our Saturday game grow. Our next Saturday Gangplay will be on July 6th

On Saturday, May 11th, the JGA's Saturday Gang Play had a beautiful day and the greens were firm and fast.

Jimmy's impressive score of 77 earned him the win for the day. Randall followed closely behind with an 78.

We played Nassau, using handicaps, with winners on the front, back, and overall including skins on the par 3s.

Randall won the last skin on the back.

It's great to see the Saturday Golf gang play outings growing. We hope to have even more people participating next time. See you in a couple weeks.

Randall Harper led the way with a smooth 68 which ended with a back nine of five birdies and no bogeys and a score of 31. Good playing Randall. Randall Harper won the back nine with 23pts(+8). We had another great day for golf for our last scheduled Saturday gang play of 2022.  The field started off slow on the front nine with windy conditions and cooler temperatures.  However, the back nine was a birdie fest. Pretty interesting to see considering how often the front nine yields more birdies typically.  The field had more than twice as many birdies on the back nine compared to the front nine.  Two players took most of the money home.  Mike Simmons and William Butler had themselves a day.  Well Played.

In the first flight, Mike Simmons shot even par 36-36-72 to take home 1^st place on the front and back nine.  Great playing.

Around 30 birdies on the day, only 6 held up.  Thanks to all that played.  This was the last scheduled Saturday play until Spring.  If weather is optimal one Saturday during the cold months leading up, well try and send out an email and get one scheduled.  It's good to hear many of you request some possible winter dates.  It means we are doing something right.  We also appreciate the support getting the Saturday game back up and going this year.  We will continue to improve it going forward and hopefully make it even better next year.

It was a chilly morning Saturday.  We had a few brave souls in shorts.  The golf course won, for the most part.  Marcy Newton was our low round of the day at even par.  Larry Blackwood was our big money winner.  We also had 25 players in our game Saturday which was great to see.  We appreciate everyone who has played and helped us grow our Saturday game so far this year.  We hope to continue to grow it.

The golf course was playing difficult Saturday morning.  A combination of difficult pins and cooler weather definitely made scoring more difficult.  We had a great group of guys again Saturday regardless and it was a good day for golf.

Saturday gang play is back and we had a great day for golf. We played two-man best ball. Teams were determined based off players handicaps. Paired high to low. The pot paid out first and second place along with skins across the entire field.
